Halloween Costumes & Haunted Hallway

On Monday, scholars in K-5 are invited to dress as their favorite book character for Halloween!.  We want families to enjoy this event but please remember scholars are not allowed to bring or wear masks that cover their face. Scholars in 6-12 are not permitted to wear a costume during school hours, but are encouraged to join in the Haunted Hallway  DPAC is excited to host the Haunted Hallway from 3:30 – 5:00pm prior to the Safe Night beginning at Doolittle Community Center. Entrance for the Haunted Hallway will be at the Middle School atrium across from the cafeteria. Seniors can earn community service hours and scholars can receive a dress down pass for donating decor.

Safe Night Halloween Carnival

Doolittle Community Center and Pearson Community Center are co-hosting a Safe Night Halloween Carnival on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 5:00pm-8:30pm.  DPAC will be participating as one of the booth vendors, where each booth will supply at least 50 pounds of candy!  We hope to see you Halloween night at this family-friendly community event.

Updates & Policy Reminders

Arrival Begins at 7:05am, Class Begins 7:30am

We are continually listening to your advice and recommendations regarding our policies and procedures.  In response to the increased time it takes during morning arrival, we now begin arrival procedures at 7:05am.  Scholars will still be permitted to enter campus fully at 7:15am and class begins for all scholars at 7:30am.  It typically takes at least 5 minutes to make it through the screening process, so please ensure that scholars are dropped off in time to make it to class by 7:30am to avoid receiving a tardy mark.

Adult Expectations on Campus

Adults, please be aware of the clothes you wear, the language you use, and the music you listen to while on DPAC’s Campus.   Wearing revealing pajamas or clothing with vulgar language or graphics on them is not appropriate for an educational setting with children as young as 5 present. Adults who do not adhere to these expectations and act with disregard for the children present will be asked to leave campus and return at a different time in a more appropriate manner. If you ever have questions about DPAC policy please refer first to the Family Handbook

21st CCLC After School Program Taking a Break

Families of the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) after school program, please be aware that we are planning to have a two-week break to restructure the CCLC program at the beginning of November. There will not be any program from Tuesday, Nov. 1 to Friday, Nov. 11th.  Program will resume on Monday, November 14th. During this time we will have professional development for our CCLC after school staff. We are excited to also use this time to collaborate with your scholar’s classroom teachers to strategically target academic areas of need for your scholars!

Please CLICK HERE if you would like to read the full letter from the program director Mr. Simon-Perez which outlines alternative programs in the community and some details about what changes you can expect.
